FOREWARD
The reality of Abuja coming together as Nigeria's Federal Capital City is most gratifying.
I saw the transformation of Abuja from a thick savannah to a glamorous glass and lights dotted skyline with international standard silk tars and and lush greenery.This, for me, is a most fulfilling experience considering that I saw this dream unfold as an itinerant young Engineer 
FCDA MANDATE
To oversee the Infrastructural and Physical Development (Planning, Design and Construction) of the new Federal Capital; ensuring that it conforms to and surpasses the standards of new Capital Cities around the world; also paying special attention to Inclusivity, Functionality, Design and Aesthetics.
FCDA is a creation of Decree No.6 of February 5, 1976 cited as the Federal Capital Territory Act.
Vision
Our vision is to build a first class Capital City and Territory comparable to the best Capital Cities and Territories in the world.
Mission
Our mission is to build the Abuja City and the Territory in compliance with the Abuja master plan; taking into consideration all the reasons that necessitated the movement of the Federal Capital from Lagos; and to establish a result oriented administration with constant focus on service delivery.
